Doug spent his younger years working in the Maryland area before moving to Cambridge Springs, where he made his home for many years. Six months ago, declining health led him to the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown, where he received compassionate care. Just days before his passing, Rose was able to join him there, this allowed them to be together once again. Throughout his life, Doug was known as a hardworking and dependable man. He worked in construction and as an ironworker before retiring from his position in security at LORD Corporation in Saegertown. While he eventually retired from his career, there was one job he never stopped doing—being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and "Papa." His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every opportunity to attend his grandchildren's sporting events, school activities, and special milestones. His steady presence, quiet strength, and love created memories that will be cherished for generations. Doug found happiness in the simple things. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Whether in the woods, on the water, or surrounded by those he loved, he appreciated life's blessings and shared that appreciation with everyone around him. In keeping with Doug's wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
