All of Catalonia on alert for the worst of the heatwave

The heat intensified even more this Tuesday in the interior of the country, with maximums that exceeded 43 oC for the first time this year in regions such as Ribera d’Ebre or Priorat. Notable were the 43.7 oC in Vinebre, the 43.3 oC in the Riba-roja reservoir, and the 43.2 oC in Torroja del Priorat. Over 42 oC were also exceeded in several points of Ponent, while in the rest of the pre-littoral and interior areas, the maximums ranged between 36 and 41 oC. The heat was so extreme that absolute records were reached in four Meteocat meteorological stations with more than twenty years of data, located in Ribera d’Ebre and Priorat.
