Another electronic equities MD exited Citi

Source Summary

As as have written, some of Citi's senior electronic equities execution people disappeared in recent weeks. Now another has gone. 💥Follow us on WhatsApp for news alerts. 💥 We understand that Ross Whittaker, a managing director at Citi in Hong Kong, is not there any more. Whittaker, who is American but who bears a favourable resemblance to James Bond, is thought to have left the desk. He did not respond to a request to comment for this article. Citi declined to discuss his whereabouts. Whittaker's apparent exit follows that of Gabriel H. Tucci, global head of the equities execution quant team in New York. It also follows the disappearance of Jamie Miller, the co-head of EMEA electronic execution in London who is still employed by the bank but who hasn't been seen on the desk for a while. Citi's equities business has been doing well. Revenues rose 39% year-on-year in the first quarter, better than at all large rivals. Asian equities revenues have been particularly buoyant across all banks; Citi may regret the fact that Whittaker has taken his charm elsewhere. Follow me on X . Follow me on LinkedIn.
